I well remember Sister M. Charlesita as my fifth- and seventh-grade teacher at St. Jerome's school in Chicago. She had a serenity and kindness about her, and as far as I know, never played favorites with the kids in those impossibly-large classrooms. Given the fact that she was only a dozen or so years older than her students, she did a remarkable job. I had no knowledge of her life after Jerome's, but she seems to have done well wherever she went.
Those years were hard for kids in many ways, but I remember feeling relieved whenever I was in her classroom. There was peace there. (And of course, from what we could see of her, she was exceptionally beautiful.)
